Technical Publications

UBT uses state of the art publishing, illustration and CAD design software to create technical content for the full spectrum of MIL-STD defense and commercial sector technical publications. UBT’s team of technical publication professionals can develop publications and IETMs content collaboratively via secure access to customers’ content management systems, or independently on UBT’s internal content management system. Manual Types include

• Custom Vehicle/Systems Capability Insertion Projects
• Operators Manuals
• Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWR)
• National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWR)
• Troubleshooting Manuals
• Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists

Supporting US Army R&D efforts, UBT develops technical publications covering vehicle modification instructions for prototype capability insertion systems developed in TARDEC and TACOM. Working closely with our mechanical and electrical integration team, UBT technical writers and illustrators develop the work package instructions fully documenting the tools, kit content, and installation procedures needed for these complex systems integration projects. Manuals developed for these Systems Integration projects include complex C4ISR systems, survivability upgrades, medical equipment integration and vehicle hydraulics, onboard power generation, distribution and thermal management systems. Ground domain manned and systems supported include:

• MRAP (MaxxPro, RG-31, RG-33, & Caiman)
• Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles
• Abrams, Bradley and Stryker
• USMC Light Amphibious Vehicle – Recovery
• Talon UGV Integration for Tactical Ground Vehicles

Our technical publication teams develop full vehicle and systems operator’s manuals, troubleshooting procedures and maintenance instructions, illustrated parts breakdowns, and repair parts and special tools lists for our clients. UBT’s environmentally protected and secure facilities support on-site storage and operation of your vehicles and weapons systems, provides for breakdown of sub systems, and full vehicle disassembly (to include heavy tactical systems), supporting on-vehicle validation and verification of your technical publications.

Through the use of integrated tool sets such as UniGraphics NX, Auto-trol Tech Illustrator, PTC’s ArborText, Creo (ProEngineering), and Windchill, UBT provides the means to rapidly convert design content in any format into line art, as well as develop high quality line art from photographs, greatly reducing product development timelines.

Standards Supported includes: MIL STD 40051, MIL STD 2361, S1000D.
